Keep Russell Blooming.
For over 20 years, the Russell Village Women’s Institute has been providing and maintaining hanging flower baskets and ground planters in the heart of Russell Village.
PoutMasters Fishing Derby May
An annual outdoor Springtime tradition, the Kin Club of Russell has coordinated the tournament and prizes from generous local sponsors.
Canada Day Fireworks! July 1st
As part of the Russell Agricultural Society annual celebrations, the Canada Day fireworks draw in excess of 4,500 people to the fair grounds to celebrate our national holiday under the stars.
Welcome to Russell sign.
Attractive, updated signage reflecting our village’s foundation in agriculture, the red brick quarry, the Castor river, and the surrounding nature. Initiated by Russell Kin Club and local sponsors.
Library Community Garden.
Provides opportunities for people of all ages to learn how to care for the earth and for themselves by growing and eating healthy, local food. Volunteers set-up, plant and maintain the garden throughout the season. Fresh produce is donated weekly to the Good Neighbour’s Food Bank.
Restoration of the 1952 Russell Fire Truck.
Displayed at the Keith Boyd Museum Fire Hall, this classic, fully functional fire truck appears at local fairs and parades on an annual basis.
Light Up the Village!
Bringing winter holiday cheer to the Village through lighted displays. Here, the Russell Agricultural Society featured a farm yard welcome and over 600 feet of lights running along the fairgrounds.
